New Zealand Education Fair Series ENZ held a series of three New Zealand Education Fairs across Thailand in 2007. These were held in Chang Mai on 8th June, Bangkok 9-10 June, and Khon Kaen 12 June. The fairs were widely promoted in each city utilising a variety of outdoor advertising mediums. Flyers and direct marketing was also utilised in conjunction with corporate sponsors’ campaigns. The fairs were also promoted at a national level via a televised interview and radio spots. 3468 visitors came to the three fairs - 578 in Chang Mai, 2340 in Bangkok over the two days, and 550 in Khon Kaen. 49 New Zealand institutions from across the secondary and tertiary sector attended one or all of the fairs. 10 Thai agencies also had a presence and helped with aspects of the fair. Presentations were made by Tourism New Zealand, Immigration New Zealand, New Zealand’s Trade Commissioner to Thailand, NZTE, and corporate sponsors Krung Thai Bank. There were also celebrity interviews and a variety of stage activities and games. The fair was preceded on 9 June by an Agents workshop which allowed Thai agents to get up to date on all things New Zealand and to meet informally with providers prior to the start of the fairs. Visitors to the fairs were given a fair booklet, including contact details and brief information relating to participating institutions, in Thai. They also received a New Zealand Educated branded back-pack.
