Thailand’s Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC) holds a central role in advising Thai government scholarship students on programme and university choices. The OCSC also provide information and advice to all students on offshore education opportunities.

This year the 4th OCSC Education Expo was held on the 13th and 14th of October.

Education New Zealand’s NZTE representative in Thailand was asked to organise a New Zealand booth for the fair, at which 3 of New Zealand’s universities attended.

The fair was extremely busy with over 36,000 visitors attending over the two days.

All national education bodies were invited to give a 30 minute presentation about scholarship opportunities in their respective countries. ENZ’s NZTE representative discussed how the OCSC undergraduate fee scholarship could be applied to a New Zealand study programme, but the NZTE representative also detailed our own Research Postgraduate Scholarship and Ph.D Domestic Fee Programme.

Approximately 80 students attended the seminar.
