Study World Fair

Held on 11-12 May 2007, Study World Fair amassed 153 Exhibitions from 24 countries and saw 9,500 visitors come through the door, in only its second year.

The fair was formed as a result of traditional German degrees shifting to bachelor and masters qualifications more aligned with international/NZ programmes.  Because of this and because German tertiary students are among the most mobile students in the world, demand in Germany is burgeoning for detailed information on equivalent full time study options abroad

Academic staff and higher education experts also visited the fair to look for potential international partners.

Most interest was shown in Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. programmes. Many also inquired about internships during academic studies.

NZTE staff spoke about the NZ higher education system, internship options and visa policies. During the speech, Study-in-New-Zealand brochures were handed out.

No official agent sessions were held. However, individual catch-ups with agents played an important role during the fair.

The fair was extremely well positioned. Visitors showed in-depth interest in specific study options abroad. It was apparent that the visitors had decided to go abroad beforehand and were using the fair as a platform to select the most suitable destination.

Visitors were given the  ‘Study in New Zealand – Handbook of Courses and Costs, 2006’, ‘Study in New Zealand’ bags, and ‘New Zealand University Directory for International Students
