Based in Berlin between 16 and 18 November 2007 ExpoLingua enjoyed its 20th year of activity. 215 exhibitors from 32 countries hosted close to 15,000 visitors with interests in secondary and tertiary education over the 3 days.
Each year the expo has a specific country or countries highlighted. This year it was the turn of New Zealand and Australia.
Prior to the event ExpoLingua’s website ran an article on New Zealand accompanied by relevant linked pages. Ambassadors for Australia and New Zealand opened the fair with short speeches and each country were given the use of a prominently placed mini-stand to further promote their respective countries. New Zealand was also given space for welcoming note in the fair catalogue.
Representatives of all but one New Zealand university were in attendance as were a smaller number of secondary and PTE New Zealand representatives.
Education New Zealand’s NZTE- Germany representative hosted a generic booth and gave a presentation on the NZ education system. Two New Zealand English language providers ran a popular mini course on Kiwi English. One of the New Zealand English language providers and an Australian representative also took part in a live radio show comparing Kiwi and Australian English. |
