Cologne is one of the five main urban centres in which the Einstieg Abi Fair Series runs.
Once again Education New Zealand commissioned NZTE Germany to staff a booth at the Cologne venue.
The fair attracted over 27,000 visitors over the two days it ran. Visitors were mainly interested in learning about academic and vocational tertiary education options and other post secondary opportunities such as apprenticeships within Germany and abroad.
343 exhibitors shared the visitors’ attentions, including an international contingent consisting of institutions from 15 countries. International exhibitors are being increasingly attracted to participation in the annual Einstieg Abi fairs.
International exhibitors noted that visitors to their booths were most interested in language and tertiary education programmes as well as internship opportunities. International exhibitors also found visitors expressing considerable interest in secondary education opportunities abroad.

Education New Zealand’s NZTE representative reported that visitors to the ‘Nueseeland” booth tended to have clearly defined educational goals and came armed with specific queries related to these goals.
