Agent Seminars Two agent seminars were held in Berlin and Hamburg on 13 and 27 June respectively. The Berlin seminar was held in the New Zealand Ambassadors residence. 17 Agents from across the English language, high school, tertiary and working holidays sectors attended. Lasting 3½ hours, the session started with informal cocktails and canapés allowing agents and New Zealand representatives to mix with and mingle. After the cocktails formal speeches were made by New Zealand’s Ambassador to Germany, Alan Cook, and by NZTE on behalf of Education New Zealand. The speeches covered the latest statistics for German students studying in New Zealand, the tertiary education strategy, and New Zealand education's international agenda. Speakers also expressed gratitude for the agents’ efforts and challenged them to increase their output. Immigration New Zealand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade were also in attendance. The Hamburg seminar was held at New Zealand’s Consular office. 13 Agents attended and the evening followed a similar format to the Berlin seminar. However instead of the Ambassador, New Zealand’s Consul General/Trade Commissioner, Jennifer Scoular, hosted and spoke.
