Student Scholarship Competition

During March to May of 2007 the Te Papa Cultural Exhibition Tour took place across 4 Chinese cities- Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, and Guangzhou.

ENZ leveraged publicity from this Ministry of Culture and Heritage porject by initiating a scholarship competition.

In total 8 prizes of 3 weeks English Language tuition in New Zealand were made available. These were allocated to two winners from each of the four cities the exhibition visited. Ultimately the two winners from Shanghai were unable to take up their prize.

40,000 competition flyers (pictured below) were distributed to people visiting the exhibition.

The flyer contained an entry form which could be handed in to sponsorship partner - CITIC (China’s sixth largest bank). CITIC also distributed flyers via its branches nationwide and was run in conjunction with promoting their new student credit card product.

Alternatively, the flyer contained information for contestants on how to enter via a competition mini-site on www.newzealandeducated.com

Over 1000 entries were received and as a result the www.newzealandeducated.com/china mini-site increased visitor numbers by as much as 50% during the competition entry period.
