Agent Seminars

Education New Zealand commissioned a number of China based NZTE representatives to perform a series of agent seminars throughout the 07/08 financial year.

Agents continue to play an important role in the Chinese student market. Hosting agent seminars sends a strong statement about New Zealand’s ongoing interest in and commitment to the agents and their market.

The main focus of the seminars was to refresh agents’ knowledge on issues relating to New Zealand’s education offerings and to refresh enthusiasm amongst agents for the educational opportunities New Zealand offers.

Specific items discussed in presentations were: the structure and culture of New Zealand’s education system (with comparisons to the Chinese system), visa application procedures, the network of education contacts in China (NZTE INZ etc) Immigration New Zealand’s skilled migrant policy, and living and tuition costs for New Zealand based students.

Immigration New Zealand attended and spoke at many of the presentations.

At a number of seminars New Zealand education providers visiting the country were able to attend. Informal networking time was allocated at these seminars to allow institutions and agents to mingle.

During the 07/08 financial year there were X seminars and over XX agencies and XXX agents attended one or more seminars (list of seminars, and dates below).
