Australean & Media Inbound Visit, 22 - 28 May 2011 Two Australearn staff, Jay Barletti and Lindsay Lauman, both regional directors, will join two North American journalists on a familiarisation tour of New Zealand in late May. Air New Zealand are supporting this project which will take the visitors to meetings with educational institutions around the country, their itinerary includes Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Dunedin and Queenstown.
NAFSA Conference & Expo, Vancouver, British Colombia, 29 May - 3 June 2011 A large New Zealand Universities area has been booked for NAFSA 2011. Information about this event is available online HERE
Australearn Canada Webinar Promotion, April/May 2011 This campaign involves contacting Canadian university students and inviting them to attend targeted webinars hosted by Australearn and New Zealand university reps. A travel voucher will be offered as a prize to attract students to take part. The sessions will each last for about an hour, starting with a 15-20 presentation and then an open Q&A discussion. One presentation will focus on a generic introduction about studying and living in New Zealand, the other will be specifically targeted to students interested in teacher training/Education. We hope to attract initial interest from 2,000 - 3,000 students, and then have between 30 and 100 very interested students attend the webinars.
Butler 'New Zealand Maps' Promotion, March- ongoing 2011 In a similar approach to the co-branded Australearn/New Zealand Educated New Zealand Maps promotion, a version co-branded with Butler University's Institute for Study Abroad was also created. 2,000 copies of the Map were printed for distribution by Butler to assist them in promoting New Zealand as an education destination to their students.
Southern California College Fairs , 14 - 17 February 2011 New Zealand Education will be promoted at a set of four College fairs at Chapman University (Orange), Orange Coast College (Costa Mesa), Azusa Pacific University (Azusa) and California Lutheran University (Thousand Oaks) in mid February. This promotion is in partnership with Australearn.

Australearn 'New Zealand Maps' Promotion, February - ongoing 2011 As one of the few 'agents' in North America, ENZ have a strong relationship with Australearn A joint New Zealand promotion will be undertaken from February which will see 1,300 New Zealand Student Travel Maps, which have been jointly 'New Zealand Educated' and 'Australean' branded, sent out to a database of students. Another 1,700 copies of the maps will be distributed by Australearn at various promotional events. An e-DM mail out and a specific New Zealand Education landing page have also been created for the promotion.
National Advisors Council Conference, Indianapolis, 3 - 5 February 2011 The ENZ rep will join IFSA-Butler staff and colleagues from around the U.S. for the 2011 NAC Conference. The event is titled 'The Student Experience in Education Abroad.' The Conference includes panel discussions, sessions and roundtables.
NACAC Conference, St Louis, Missouri, 30 September – 2 October 2010 The National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) Conference is one of the largest of its type and brings together college admission counselling professionals from the USA and around the world to reconnect with colleagues and pursue professional development. College Admission Counsellors’ primary role is to advise high school students on college (university) study options and opportunities. 6,600 delegates and 180 exhibitors attended the event. Education New Zealand co-hosted a 10 x 10 booth in the exhibition hall with University of Canterbury.
Rice University Study Abroad Fair, Houston, Texas, 24 September 2010 550 students and parents and 27 exhibitors, including some from France and Italy as well as Butler and Australearn, attended Rice University’s Study Abroad Fair held at the college’s campus. The fair is designed to highlight international options available to Rice students. Education New Zealand co-hosted a 10 x 10 booth in the exhibition hall with Immigration New Zealand. Interest in New Zealand was high; engineering is a specialty of Rice and one of the appeals of NZ is that we offer high standard engineering courses with no language barrier.

United States Inbound Visit, April 2010 In the last week of April two staff from Diversity Abroad visited six universities and two ITPs in an itinerary that stretched from one end of the country to the other. Both visitors were very satisfied with the overall organisation of the visit, and particularly enjoyed the fine dining and relaxing in Rotorua’s hot pools. Diversity Abroad continue to work closely with Education New Zealand to promote New Zealand education.

Diversity Abroad Partnership (February 2010 - February 2011) The 'Study in New Zealand' message will get exposure in North America through Diversity Abroad's website , the Diversity in Global Education Network and the Go Global Campus Tour. NAFSA Conference & Expo, Kansas City, MO, 30 May - 4 June 2010 A 'New Zealand Universities' Pavilion will be the centerpoint for the eight universities' promotion at NAFSA this year. This page will be updated on completion of this event, information about NAFSA can be found online HERE.
NACAC Conference, September 2009 The National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) fairs is a series of fairs located in over 40 US cities, targeting secondary students considering a tertiary education. The Baltimore NACAC fair was held in September 2009, which was the 3rd Conference with NZ representation, the 2nd where NZ was represented in the Expo Hall and partnered with Australearn and Australia Education International to host a Counsellor “Down Under” Breakfast. On average, 350-400 institutions exhibit at the fairs, four New Zealand representatives formed the New Zealand education booth at the September event.
Student Ambassador Programme, July 2009 The idea of a Youth Ambassador for Education New Zealand is to become a centre of expertise on New Zealand study opportunities and act as an advocate for New Zealand as a study destination. Its role is to develop networks of students who have, or are interested in short or longer term study options, to better utilise social networking opportunities and to develop and deliver general presentations on study in New Zealand to both high school and college audiences

IIE Networker Naylor Magazine This biannual publication publishes pieces on all aspects of international education in the United States and around the world and features new research, as well as resources and articles that deal with everyday practice. A full page generic advertisement about New Zealand Education was featured under Study Abroad Programmes in the 2009 Spring edition. Print run: 6,100
Advertising and Public relations A weekly digest of media coverage and other information from the USA is emailed to NZ stakeholders. Each Quarter newzealandeducated.com presents a digest of the latest education news and information from New Zealand. Pay per click advertising is undertaken on a semi-regular basis.

Canada Go Abroad Fair, September 2008 This Fair is organised by the Canadian Education Centre Network (CEC), which has a strong reputation in Canada and around the world. The fair was held in Toronto for the 5th time and in Vancouver for the second time in 2008. More than 150 organizations were showcasing their international programmes and services, with close to 8,000 visitors coming to the four day events.
NACAC Conference, September 2008 The 64th NACAC Conference was held in Seattle and 300+ institutions from several countries exhibited at the fair. Australearn and Education New Zealand staffed generic stands in the exhibition hall.
