How you can use the brand New Zealand institutions and the brand
History
Between 1999 and 2004, a collection of private sector and government bodies worked to establish and implement a unified international marketing strategy for New Zealand, which is now known as the ‘New Zealand Educated’ brand.
Education New Zealand took over management, development and funding of the brand in July 2004 through the Promotions and Marketing Reference Group.
Use of the New Zealand Educated Brand
The Brand is used in all offshore promotional and marketing collateral produced for the export education industry. All offshore events under PACE, as well as commercial events that Education New Zealand participates in, include fully branded collateral and promotion of the New Zealand Educated website.
The Brand under went extensive evolution in 2007, culminating in a launch at Parliament on 23 June 2007. The new brand uses seven brand values to capture the essence of New Zealand’s lifestyle and education system. The seven values are: Adventurous, Lively, Personal, Welcoming, Inventive, Trusted, Connected.

One of the integral users of the brand is the Student website www.newzealandeducated.com
The website is designed to be the most comprehensive generic New Zealand education website. It provides information about detailed study and course options, as well as in depth information about living in New Zealand. The site is designed to encourage visitors to identify specific institutions they can then contact.
The website was relaunched on 4 October 2007 after extensive user testing and months of design and implementation. The new site uses a range of Web 2.0 strategies including blogging, Flash and user feedback. The site has capacity to adapt and evolve to incorporate new technologies in the future.
New Zealand Institutions and the Brand
New Zealand institutions are encouraged to list their profiles and course details on the website; like most web advertising, this opportunity involves an annual fee.
Institutions, education agents and cluster groups are also encouraged to use the industry brand for their own marketing purposes with access to logos and images available upon signing a brand license contract; this opportunity is free of charge.
Education New Zealand encourages institutions to sign up to the website and the brand; The more collective industry support that the brand enjoys, the greater the impact of generic and institutional marketing efforts.
