Consumer Marketing

Education New Zealand runs a number of consumer marketing events that New Zealand can register to participate in as part of the national marketing programme, PACE.  Consumer marketing activities are designed to provide institutions with opportunities for promotion within key markets around the world, and are usually in the form of a New Zealand Education Fair or a pavilion at a Commercial Fair.

New Zealand Education Fairs are run in markets where New Zealand has a strong reputation. In these markets it is achievable to encourage many visitors to meet with New Zealand representatives. In some countries, ‘New Zealand Education Fairs’ are renamed and become a collaborative event with another country to enable the sharing of event promotion costs and to increase visitor numbers.

In markets where New Zealand is not as well known, or where excessive cost may inhibit holding our own New Zealand Education Fair, there may be the opportunity to participate in a Commercial Fair. A ‘New Zealand Educated’ branded pavilion is developed for institutions to participate under; working together and being surrounded by strong generic branding enables New Zealand institutions to group together and look professional compared to our international competitors.

The Study in New Zealand series of publications is another form of consumer marketing that Education New Zealand undertakes, in partnership with APN Educational Media. The series consists of the Handbook of Courses and Courses and the Secondary Education directory, which are printed in English, and seven native language directories, which are printed in the language of the market. New Zealand institutions can participate in the series as a whole, or in individual publications.
