2010 Familiarisation Visits

c_v_smallMany of you will be aware of the exciting announcement by Air New Zealand CEO, Rob Fyfe, at the ENZ Conference in early August 2009.  Rob announced a commitment to stimulate international student travel to New Zealand by making $200,000 of Air New Zealand airfares available, for use by 30 June 2010. With this support ENZ is rolling out a programme of familiarisation visits during 2010 for selected  education agents and media representatives from our key markets.

The objectives of the visits are to stimulate agents' promotion of New Zealand education and to gain profile raising opportunities through international media exposure. In addition to the Air New Zealand flights, ENZ will also heavily subsidise the New Zealand based travel costs.  Individual institutions have the opportunity to register their interest in hosting inbound groups, at a cost of $800 (+GST) per group for a two hour visit.

The itineraries will be a combination of institution visits and sightseeing/free time opportunities, to ensure the programme isn't too exhausting for the visitors.  A maximum of three domestic flights per itinerary has been set.  The New Zealand locations have been pre-selected for each itinerary, in consultation with Air New Zealand and the Regional Group Coordinators.

An overview of the proposed series of 2010 Familiarisation Visits is available HERE which makes use of Air New Zealand flights up to the value of approximately $140,000.  Markets have been chosen based on Air New Zealand flight routes and their level of priority with both Air New Zealand and ENZ.

In all cases (except for USA), it will be the New Zealand Specialist Agents that are invited to nominate themselves for the familiarisation visits, ENZ will select agents based on a set of predetermined criteria.

The first three inbound groups open for registrations are Japan, USA and Hong Kong.  Online registrations will be taken through the registration below and added to the itineraries on a 'first-in-first served' basis.  Registrations for these three groups will close on Friday 21 January 2010.  There is no financial committment involved in registering an expression of interest and the itinerary dates remain TBC at this stage.  Once a draft itinerary has been created and the dates firm up, definite confirmations will be sought from participants.

Thank you for your registration to participate in the Japan, USA and Hong Kong inbound agent and media visits. Arrangements for these visits are well underway. Prabha Ravi will soon be contacting you with more information regarding these  three  visits.
