Background

On 5 December 2002, Parliament approved the introduction of a compulsory levy for export education providers to fund a range of export education industry development activities including professional development, promotion, quality assurance and research.

Funds raised by the levy are held in the export education industry development fund and are ring-fenced to ensure that strategic development work is ongoing and securely resourced.
