For the marketing types, Mike Holt and Fraser Gardyne of Gardyne Holt are presenting a workshop about how to get through with your marketing material, and there will be a Statistics workshop where the various sources of statistical information relating to the industry will be discussed an analysed.
Once you've got 'em, how can you keep 'em? Philip Moon will be sharing his views on pastoral care during the Workshop Wednesday, whilst Appeals Authority Marilyn Wallace shares not only her latest annual report but looks at some of the issues that didnt make it on to the printed page.
Those who are potential recipients of tertiary scholarship students can get the latest in progress from the Government schemes (both our on and offshore) from ENZ Scholarships Manager Camilla Swan. And if it is free and frank advice that you like, then check out what Tim Fowler, late international manager at Victoria University and now PVC International at the University of Southern Queensland has to say about how things compare across the Tasman. - Group Discounts
If four or more are attending from any one educational institution, all four delegates get a 10% discount (this applies to both the early bird and the regular price, and to the price of each individual delegates registration (ie, not all delegates have to register for all days).
The 5th and subsequent delegates from the same educational institution get a 20% discount.

Professor Barry McGaw AO, currently attached to the University of Melbourne and formerly the Director of Education at the OECD. Professor McGaw gave a hard hitting presentation on international education at the recent AEI Conference in Brisbane and is an incisive commentator on the realities of globalizing education.
Allison Doorbar is the Managing Partner of the prestigious international education consultancy and research agency JWT Education. Alison will be presenting research titled ‘Review of the Asian Student of 2005’. This research will provide a timely update of the Asian student market, highlighting the changes which have occurred in this region recently, the potential impact of these changes and how international educators can most effectively address them.
Further specific market research will be presented by Alan Olsen; Director, SPRE Ltd, and Rob Laurence, Director, Prospect Group who will release their research on the Korean and Japanese markets.
Futurist and international education consultant Daniel Guhr, from the leading US based consultancy the Illuminate Group. Dan will look into the future in his presentation entitled ‘International Education 10 Years Out – Why the Well Prepared will Win’.
Professor Nigel Healey, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the College of Business and Economics, University of Canterbury. He asks "Is Higher Education Really Globalising”? And postulates that while trends in higher education around the world appear to support this orthodox view, there is an alternative interpretation of developments, which leads to a different vision for the global higher education ‘industry’ of 2020.
‘Diversity and Internationalisation – The Challenges facing New Zealand’ is the topic of Professor Dr Chris Tremewan; Pro Vice Chancellor International, University of Auckland.
Rod Oram; the popular and thought provoking Economic and Business Commentator for the Sunday Star Times will speak on the topic: ‘An Outsiders Guide to International Education Happiness’.
Conference is the essential event for catching up on the latest from Minister for Tertiary Education with responsibility for international education, Hon. Dr. Michael Cullen, and the new CEO of NZQA, Dr Karen Poutasi. Other key stakeholder representatives from the Ministry of Education and NZTE will bring delegates up to date with the overall environment that affects all institutions.
Other Presenters range from leading school international marketers like Suzette Eastmond (Rangitoto) and Kim Harase (ACG) to local researchers and practical consultants such as Russ Skinner (Skinner Strategic) and George Koria from the Asia Crime Unit of the NZ Police. And the Sector Workshop Wednesday returns with NZTE led Business Development workshops, Jim Sinclair and the Code Office and NZIS, among others.
